The Wait is now over
Launched on the 15th June 2003, Rural Broadband brings Broadband to the villages, businesses and rural houses of Buckinghamshire. Using wireless technology all the benefits of Broadband are available to areas that are not provided for by British Telecom ADSL or Cable broadband, at the same price as ADSL.
The first phase will be the triangle defined by Aylesbury, Bicester and Thame. The second phase will be going out in the Wing direction, and then we will grow north and south.
The first base station is now live (in Chilton), covering Chilton, Upper and Lower Pollicot and the top end of Ashendon.
In addition the Upper Winchendon base station is now live. This covers Upper Winchendon, and the parts of the Thame valley (between Dinton and Upper Winchendon) that can see the Upper Winchedon base station which is near the Observatory. The upper part of Nether Winchendon is now also covered by a new base station.
